Kyle and Katie came to me because both Katie and her mother-in-law to be are teachers at Troy High school and had heard about me through the grapevine. I had the privilege of shooting Kyle and Katie's engagement photos at Meadowbrook (before they closed the place to everyone except if you're having a wedding there that day) and loved shooting their wedding in Rochester, Michigan. We had a spectacularly nice fall Michigan wedding day. After their wedding we went to a local Rochester park to play between their Rochester, Michigan wedding ceremony and their Rochester wedding reception. Lots of fun times on a beautiful day.

Their wedding reception was at a place called "La Sala" which I passed three times thinking it was part of Papa Joe's supermarket! It's hidden, but a nice banquet hall, none the less and for couples who like a lot of uplighting, they can change the color of their room with the flip of a switch. Katie and Kyle, chose blue for their wedding reception lighting and I was happy I could have that show up. It was easier to photograph the uplighting here because their walls and ceiling are white and reflect the uplighting well. Kyle and Katie also gave me something unique to photograph at their Rochester wedding reception. They had their guests fill out cards asking questions like, "who was the first one to say I Love You?". Katie and Kyle sat back to back and which ever thought it was them raised a shoe in answer. Some of the questions asked were too smutty, but the game went over well and everyone got to know them a bit better and it also provided me the opportunity to get some great candid wedding photos of the guests reacting to the answers.
