Enjoy the slideshow from a destination wedding I photographed in Negril, Jamaica. I grew up overseas and have been photographing in destinations all around the world for most of my life, so photographing weddings in locations outside the United States is a natural progression for me. I'm comfortable with different languages and cultures and can go about my business of capturing your wedding day without travel worries.

PRICING FOR DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY WITHIN MICHIGAN:

I'm based in Troy, Michigan and most of my wedding are in the Metro Detroit, Michigan area. If your wedding is 50-100 miles from Troy there is a $50 travel feel. If your wedding is 100-150 miles from Troy, it's a $100 fee.

Now let's say you're having a wedding at Lake Michigan or up North. That is a true "Michigan Destination Wedding". It might not be a destination for you, but it is for me.
~ 8 hour weddings outside of a 200 mile driving radius from Troy - $3,000.
~ 10 hour wedding outside a 200 mile radius - $3,500.
~12 hour package and you can split up those hours between two days using them for rehearsal or for activities the day after the wedding. That fee is $4,000.

Hold on Marci... we're only asking you to drive. Why the steeper price tag?
Well, glad you asked! Consider I'm driving, say 3 hours each way to your wedding. That means an 8 hour wedding day is now a 14 hour work day. That means I'm either arriving to your wedding pooped, or I'm heading off to my second wedding of the weekend pooped. Neither is optimal or fair to my clients. So in order to meet the growing demand to have me traveling throughout Michigan (in troll territory only, please), I need to be able to literally and physically recharge my batteries!
It also means I need to get two hotel nights as well as food for a few days.
In high season (May-November), I almost always photograph two weddings a weekend. A destination means that my ability to photograph back to back days becomes seriously restricted. As always, feel free to contact me with questions you have about any and all of your destination wedding questions.

PRICING FOR DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY OUTSIDE OF MICHIGAN:

I charge approximately $4500 for photographing destination weddings, which includes not only up to eight hours of wedding day photo coverage, but 4 hours of wedding coverage either the day before or the day after the destination wedding as well. As a destination wedding photojournalist, I fit in with your wedding, your guests and the mood you've worked so hard to create. Most destination weddings have activities lined up for their guests, or dinners to bring everyone together and I'm happy to cover those as on the day before or after as well. You see, I've arrived at the $4500 fee because you are effectively paying me for the entire weekend. I often book two weddings on a "normal" weekend, and this makes up the difference since I'm taken out of circulation and cannot book a wedding in Detroit, Michigan that weekend. I don't charge extra for the traveling, hotel, rental cars, parking and food (although do check with me.... if you're going someplace where airfare alone is super expensive, I might have to adjust for that), just for the two days of work.

As with all my wedding photography packages, you own all the high resolution, digital image photo files and take care of the printing yourself. The ready to print images will arrive within two weeks of your fantastic destination wedding!
