From a Backyard Garden Fall Wedding in Metro Detroit, Michigan

Jennifer and Chris's Michigan backyard wedding happened in the fall and was the perfect location for their very own backyard garden wedding in the Metro Detroit, Michigan area. Hardly anyone is lucky enough to have a backyard, gardens and a location that was so well suited to hosting a fabulous fall wedding and also get lucky enough to have an unusually warm day. I loved the emotion that was evident on everyone's faces. I loved the horse drawn carriage that pulled Jennifer and her father up to the garden. I loved the flower girl who loved the idea of being in a wedding, but wasn't terribly keen on the actual specifics of having everyone look at her!

I am positive that an enormous amount of work went into planning this backyard garden wedding and getting their yard ready to be wedding worthy. Or at least I usually hear about how long families have been landscaping and planning and weeding and planting. I'm not really sure if they did that, but Jennifer and Chris were lucky that their metro Detroit, Michigan backyard and garden wedding could handle so many people effortlessly and be sculpted into different areas for different purposes. They even managed to "hide" and enormous tent in the side yard!

Jennifer was the Pinterest queen with her rustic wedding decorations and wedding details. They incorporated a lot of the backyard's natural elements into the wedding so each area served a purpose and it felt very spacious and natural. I loved Chris's expressions as Jennifer walked down the aisle. If you were wondering, yes, Jennifer is pregnant and I was pleased they went ahead and didn't change their wedding date. They'd booked my wedding photography a year in advance for the busy fall season and had obviously worked really hard to get their garden and backyard to look fabulous for their Michigan fall wedding and so when a baby came into the plans, they took it in stride, shrugged and we worked the baby bump into the photos.
