Lindsey and Matt's wedding at Sweetest Heart of Mary Church and their wedding reception at the Dearborn Inn started at the Dearborn Inn with both of them getting ready at suites on a FREEZING winter day. We then headed out to the amazing Sweetest Heart of Mary (one of Detroit's most famous historic churches) for their wedding, then off to lots of other historic and iconic places around Detroit for fun winter wedding photographs.

Like many winter weddings in Michigan, Lindsey and Matt were wanting to get as many photos as possible inside their beautiful and historic Detroit wedding venue, the Sweetest Heart of Mary Church. Like most Catholic wedding services in beautiful historic buildings, there is a set amount of time you can be in the building as they almost always have Mass scheduled for the hour after the wedding and the wedding needs to leave the pretty, warm building. So we went to the wonderful Guardian Building for wedding photos and while it is lovely and actually photographed a LOT like the Sweetest Heart of Mary Church did, we decided to brave the cold for a few outdoor photos at Detroit's train station. Somehow this locale has become a favorite of Detroit wedding parties for wedding photos, and it looks great no matter what season it is. But it's also a wind tunnel and is FREEZING in the winter for wedding photos. You might not be able to tell, but Matt was the one freezing for these outdoors winter wedding photos, not Lindsey!

we then drove back to the Dearborn Inn for their wedding reception for dinner and dancing. I love the emotion on Lindsey's face during the toasts and speeches. She really let loose to thoroughly enjoy the wedding day experience with all that the Dearborn Inn had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised that we didn't need to use the Dearborn Inn for wedding photography as there are a lot of places to shoot in the winter for weddings.
