Something was in the air during 2021 for weddings. Maybe it's because I had a lot of weddings to make up from 2020. Maybe it was because so many friends and family hadn't seen each other for over a year. Maybe people were just more spontaneous in 2021.

It also could have been because part of my secret for being a photographer ninja is that I can easily disappear. And what better way to send a message to ignore me than to double mask? Being pretty much the only masked person or vendor during the 2021 wedding year meant it was a bit harder for groups to hear me for the formal photographs, but it also meant people gave me a wide berth during the wedding which left me free to catch a million wedding day moments.

I saw more tears (the good kind, I promise) in 2021. More "First Looks" than ever before and more tears during the ceremony after having their "First Look". Especially the grooms. Lots of sobbing grooms in 2021.

I also watched two couples grapple with fathers missing in action on their wedding day due to illness.

I helped more clients set their timelines this year which meant they had more time to play with their guests and family and friends. That meant way more opportunities for me to get those fantastic wedding day moments.

It also meant I was able to build in time for amazingly unique and cool epic portraits for my clients, so check out that gallery while you're here!
