Destination Weddings Outside of Michigan
Detroit based destination wedding photography IN and OUT of Michigan
Enjoy the slideshow from a destination wedding I photographed in Negril, Jamaica. I grew up overseas and have been shooting in destinations all around the world for most of my life, so shooting weddings in locations outside the United States is a natural progression for me. I'm comfortable with different languages and cultures and can go about my business of capturing your wedding day without travel worries. Scroll to the bottom if you'd like to see some of my more recent travel photos.
PRICING FOR DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY WITHIN MICHIGAN: If your wedding is in Michigan and is more than a two - four hour drive from Troy, I am happy to photograph your wedding. This only applies to weddings that are 8 (or more hour) hour wedding packages. The extra fees involved are two nights of hotel accommodation (don't worry about putting me up at a resort - I will more than likely be staying part way there and part way back so I can arrive fresh for the next wedding). There is also a mileage fee of $50 for locations weddings over 50 miles from Troy, $100 for weddings over 100 miles and $150 for weddings over 150 miles. Traverse City, Michigan weddings and Grand Rapids weddings fall into this category. I have also shot weddings in Chicago and yes, that's also considered a true destination wedding for me, so please refer to the pricing listed below. Why two nights of hotel? Consider driving, say 3 hours each way to your wedding. That means an 8 hour wedding day is now a 14 hour work day. That means I'm either arriving to your wedding pooped, or I'm heading off to my second wedding of the weekend pooped. Neither is a optimal or fair to my clients. So in order to meet the growing demand to have me traveling throughout Michigan (in troll territory only, please), I need to be able to literally and physically recharge my batteries! As always, feel free to contact me with questions you have about any and all of your destination wedding questions.
PRICING FOR DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY OUTSIDE OF MICHIGAN: I charge approximately $4500 for photographing destination weddings, which includes not only up to eight hours of wedding day photo coverage, but 4 hours of wedding coverage either the day before or the day after the destination wedding as well. As a destination wedding photojournalist, I fit in with your wedding, your guests and the mood you've worked so hard to create. Most destination weddings have activities lined up for their guests, or dinners to bring everyone together and I'm happy to cover those as on the day before or after as well. You see, I've arrived at the $4500 fee because you are effectively paying me for the entire weekend. I often book two weddings on a "normal" weekend, and this makes up the difference since I'm taken out of circulation and cannot shoot a wedding in Detroit, Michigan that weekend. I don't charge extra for the traveling, hotel, rental cars, parking and food (although do check with me.... if you're going someplace where airfare alone is super expensive, I might have to adjust for that), just for the two days of work.
As with all my wedding photography packages, you own all the high resolution, digital image photo files and take care of the printing yourself. The ready to print images will arrive within two weeks of your fantastic destination wedding! Please check out my wedding work in the main section so you can get a feel for my style and quality of work.
