Addison Oaks Wedding Photography

Addison Oaks Weddings in Romeo, Michigan is one of my favorite places in Michigan for awesome, timeless and gorgeous wedding photography. It is truly one of my favorite Michigan wedding venues because it offers great photo opportunities indoors and outdoors AND in every season.

When the bridesmaids got sick of their shoes I told them to take them off and throw them away. And they did! Love this fun, spontaneous interpretation of what I’d said during an outdoors wedding at Addison Oaks in Leonard, Michigan.Addison Oaks wedding photography offers me the chance to play in a beautiful location, but to also shoot the beautiful, but technically challenging indoor wedding reception area.

The bride’s bouquet at Addison Oaks, Michigan had a baby bonnet added to the stems and pieces of her grandmother’s dress added into the flowers to give it a more personal touch all the while keeping with the color themes.

I always ask the wedding party what best defines them as a group. This group opted for “dinosaurs”! I’ve never seen that before!

Katie & Ross’s Sneak Peak ~ Here are just a few of my very favorites from their wedding day this past Friday (yeah, two days ago!) at Addison Oaks in Leonard, Michigan. I always love shooting here and for some reason even though every time I photograph an outdoors wedding at Addison Oaks, the weather is always threatening and it always is able to proceed outdoors as planned! My favorite part? It never seems to bother the bride! This county park offers an old Tudor style home (which Katie and Ross loved and wanted to feature a lot in their photos), excellent and experienced staff as well as a banquet style meal that closely resembles what I picture might greet you when you get to the pearly gates! This is one of my favorite wedding locations in all of Michigan. Maybe it draws the kinds of couples I like to shoot (fun loving, go with the flow, deeply in love and highly individualized) or maybe it just lends itself to being a fabulous wedding location no matter the time of year. I’m not sure of the exact reason I love shooting weddings at Addison Oaks, but I’d be very happy to be there every week!

Katie and Ross travelled back to Michigan for their wedding. I loved their calm, fun loving way they enter life and their day. They used a corral and sea theme in their wedding (a nod to her Hawaiian heritage), but the real theme was just to enjoy their fun wedding day! They mentioned right away they didn’t have any nice photos of the two of them together since they both like to goof around. So I made sure we’ve got lots and lots and lots of photos of the two of them together, being together and having fun together. The other aspect I really wanted to emphasize was their very tight knit blended family. It’s always wonderful to see such loving and supportive families come together to thoroughly celebrate their kids. One of my favorite shots of the day was Ross’s mom and “step” mom hugging as they traded spots during the mother/son dance. So sweet. Enjoy their day with them!

Marci, I’d swore you stole my thoughts with your copy. You are right on – their food is amazing and the place has a magical vibe. AND yes – I get out there about 6-7 times a year and even though rain may threaten it seems to hold off. I think it’s bizarre. Anyway, we have in common our industry, out Alma Mater and our love for Addison Oaks here in Michigan.ReplyCancel
