As you've seen, this gallery and wedding photo album features Greg and Amanda. Amanda was one of my most thorough brides. She found me on the Knot and is a Knot devotee. She had lots of ideas and input for me... mostly ideas she'd gathered from Knot chat board posts. Their wedding was in Eaton Rapids, just south of Lansing Michigan. Both the ceremony and the reception took place at the English Inn. The wedding day in Lansing was a moist and very warm day, but Amanda was determined to ignore the weather and was thankful that their outdoor wedding day was perfect, if not a tad sweat inducing! Greg and Amanda wanted wedding photography that had more formal photos than I would normally do, but since I tailor each couple's wedding photography to their specific wedding photo needs, I was happy to take on the challenge of creating a dozen or so unique wedding portraits. Because this was a smaller wedding (which I love by the way), I still had plenty of time to utilize my wedding photojournalist skills. The kids in this ceremony were beyond cute... I fell in love with the little boy who shall forever be embedded in this wedding photographer's mind as "the Easter chick". From looking at the wedding photos, you might assume that Greg and Amanda were their parents because they spent so much time and took such great care with the kids during the day. No, they're just doting aunts and uncles, but they provided endless candid moment opportunities for this MI wedding photojournalist. The wedding ceremony was intimate and Amanda got a great fit of the giggles (maybe because Santa was performing the ceremony!). Afterwards, they played croquet with the kids and wanted quite a few posed wedding photos. I try to cater to the couples needs and gauge their tolerance / enthusiasm for shooting wedding photography. Amanda had seen this sparkler shot on the Knot and we were able to recreate it after about a dozen attempts. Thank goodness for digital photography. My shutter kept tripping prematurely and I kept getting something that more closely resembled a McDonald's arch than a heart!I think everybody had a great time and because their guest list was around 50 - 75 people, everyone was thoroughly covered using my "I Spy" wedding photojournalist techniques.
